There was new music aplenty this month - with 23rd Precinct Music's writers showing once again their passion and desire for writing music.
The start of the month saw our writer Louise Stonebank collaborate once more with Monstercat's Stonebank resulting the electronica floor shaker 'Take Me Away'. A strong month has seen it soar on streaming platforms surpassing 150k on Spotify alone. Check out Stonebank & EMEL 'Take Me Away' here. Louise's first release of the year ifs a stellar one and we're sure there is more loads more to come in 2021.
Richie Blacker made yet more gains on his mission to become one of the UK's most accomplished producers. The Northern Irish producer/artist made his debut on progressive heavyweight Anjunadeep as part of their Anjunadeep 12 compilation. His track '2 Late 2 Love' was supported by none other than Above & Beyond's Jono Grant. You can grab a physical copy of the compilation here.
Following on from the success of his 2020 EP 'Summer Of Rave', Richie made his return to Skream's Of Unsound Mind label with his new EP release 'Ecstacy Jesus'. Already landing plays on BBC Radio 1 and a top 5 spot in the Beatport charts after just 4 days, it's set to be another stepping stone on the way to greatness for 23rd Precinct's Richie Blacker. Our writer Laurence Hobbs was back amongst it this month co-writing a track for TRP & X Factor's Lauren Murray. A quintessential pop dance banger, 'Show Me Some Love' delivers on all those classic feel good notes and you can listen to it here.
There was new music on 23rd Precinct's in-house label Limbo Black Records. Irish duo Phraktal released the debut single from their impending tech sci-fi fused album. Single 'Cabal' receiving support from electronic powerhouses like John Digweed & Nick Warren to name a few. Our new signing Jessica Alici collaborated with techno giant and fellow 23rd Precinct signee - NEM3SI$ on 'Generation X'. Available to pre-order via Beatport, this warehouse filler is coming out on Set About Records. Grab a first listen here.
There was more new music from recent 23rd Precinct signee Charlie Sanderson. A collaborative R&B pop ballad alongside Dick Groves. 'Tryin Real Hard' showcases the strength and depth the Charlie's songwriting and his unparalleled vocal talent - check out the official video for 'Tryin Real Hard' here.
Our long-running writer Frank Farrell also continued his upward trajectory - following on from his 'Dip It Raw' & 'Nowhere To Hide' releases with a tech-house banger 'Play My Music' which you can check out here. Any fans of tech house music, check out Toolbox Records back catalogue.
23rd Precinct's Ryan Sewell had one of his busiest months to date with a series of releases and a succession of tracks played on BBC Radio1. The long awaited release on Defected Records imprint D4 Dance alongside Black Caviar was met with rapturous applause with support across multiple DSP editoral spots as well as a fair share of Radio support. Released on the same day as 'Money Money', Ryan's track 'Burning' - a collaboration with The Deepshakerz landed a coveted spot on BBC Radio 1's flagship dance show with Danny Howard. Check out the release here including KC Lights tech house remix.
Ryan also made his debut on Ultra Music alongside Kydus and their track 'Gold Digger'. A cheeky, playful tech house party popper, check it out here.
An exceptional month for Ryan was topped off with his unreleased track with Italian house producer Imanol Molina was selected as 'Friday Fire' by Sarah Story on BBC Radio 1. A tremendous way to end a tremendous month for the Irish soul giant.
Raff Crolla aka His Bitter Truth made a sensational debut on brand spanking new label Raise Records with the aptly named 'Raise You Up'. More new music from our writers Futuristic Polar Bears - Fran Cosgrave, Luke Hayes & Rhys Buckley teaming up with Cuebrick, Angie Vu Ha & IIVES on their track 'Addiction'. The trio back Spinnin Records with a track you can expect to hear filling warehouses and festival fields soon [fingers crossed]. In the meantime check it out here.
First release of 2021 was our young tech-trance prodigy Jardin Owens. His latest track 'Deep State' signed to Vandit Records takes a more progressive approach - a new sound for the Scottish producer. Check it out here.
We were pleased to see Texas' new track 'Hi' play-listed by BBC Radio 2 - with 23rd Precinct's Robert Hodgens credited with songwriting and performing credits. A fantastic feat for one of Scotlands finest bands.
