February 2023 - Monthly Round Up

The shortest month of the year felt exactly that, over in a flash. But not before we enjoyed some great releases courtesy of writers and producers signed to 23rd Precinct Music.

Richie Blacker fly to Amsterdam to spend time with the Armada Music team, just in time to celebrate the single 'Wizard Of E' released on the dutch dance heavyweight. The debut record for Richie on Armada, it's another belter incorporating his signature rave and breakbeat sonics.

There was a much welcomed return of new music from our writer/vocalist Sarah Jane Johnson who teamed up with Camden Cassa on 'Oh Yeah'. The clubfloor filler enjoyed support on Defected Radio's show thanks to OFFAIAH, you can re-watch the full set here.

A track that has been in the works for some time now, 'Better Day' by Paul Adam, Alex Bohemien and Raff Crolla was released on Motive Records. Co-written by 23rd's Raff, it's a vocal house delight and audiences on Traxsource agreed with the track reaching the #1 spot on the pre-order chart.

Another Traxsource success came from our writing team Elliot Chapman and Stuart Braybrooke. Their track 'I Will Be There' by Bayley Badhasha feat. Yazmin Wood landed in Soulful House, Hype and Weekend Weapon charts.

Barely a month goes by without something exciting happening to our producer David Forbes. His track 'Questions Must Be Asked' originally released 28 years ago was given the remix treatment but some of the UK's most promising stars in dance music; Modeā, Y2K and Magica. The remix package was released on Armada music and you can check it out here.

David also teamed up with fellow 23rd signee Mark Sherry on the ground shaking 'Galvinizers' - inspired by the iconic room in Glasgow's SWG3 venue. The track has been sitting comfortably in Beatports' top 10 Trance for most of the month. Grab a listen here.

Mark Sherry also released this remix of Marco V's 'GODD'. Sherry bringing his distinctive powerful energy which has served him well over his career.

Ryan Sewell released another part of his Nu-Funk project Prince Street Bodega. The project is in collaboration with Black Caviar & Domenico and latest track 'Glory' is full of 80s inspiration, gospel choirs and undeniable swag.

This year, 23rd Precinct's in-house record label Limbo celebrates it's 30 year anniversary. With huge plans for later this year (more will be revealed soon), things got underway with the digital release of 1990's K.O.R.E catalogue. The hard dance subsidiary of 23rd Precinct released 4 products in February; 'Hanger' by Active Force, 'SYSTEM XXX' by Q-Tex and 'Hardcore Nation 2' by Equazion.
