June 2021 - Monthly Round Up
As ever it's been a busy month for 23rd Precinct Music Publishing and all our writers. With a variety of radio plays, digital streaming platform editorial support and collaborations aplenty, it was another successful month for the 23rd Precinct team.
Our in-house record label Limbo Records signed and released the debut single from Galaxy 82 - a mysterious alias of a world renown DJ/producer creating some of the finest 90s inspired rave music around. 'Equinox' made quite the impression with BBC Radio1's Pete Tong giving it a world exclusive first play. More support came in quickly from the likes of Chicane and Spotify's dance music gatekeeper Austin Kraemer. As if that wasn't enough, it's steadily climbing the Beatport Breakbeat charts sitting at an impressive #20 just a few days after release. Co-written by 23rd Precinct's Joy Farrukh & Justin Kielty 'Equinox' is absolutely one for the summer sets! Check it out here.
It was a busy month for our writer Scott Forshaw - based in Dubai, Scott's been getting back into the swing of things regularly gigging and revelling in that much missed live music sector. He made his debut on 'Some Other Records' with his adaption of the 90's classic 'Set You Free'. Although no publishing credits on this being a cover, we're pleased to represent Scott for neighbouring rights meaning we'll be picking up any PPL income on his behalf. Check out 'Set You Free' available on all major streaming platforms here.
Scott's project with fellow 23rd Precinct signee Joe Beck released another belter single under their Ruff Club alias. The second single on their deal with Perfect Havoc, 'Slippin' featuring Salena Mastroianni was released mid-month, it's tech-inspired pop banger made it into Apple Music's 'Future Dance Hits' and 'New In Dance' playlists and is a sure inclusion when clubs re-open.
One of our longest signed writers Les Elston released new music under his Faction 1 pseudonym. Les who is more known for his legendary productions under Lab4, released 'Solon' a tech-house banger on Atomika. It's blend of big room climatic builds and eye watering pounding basslines make for unmissable listening - check it out here.
Our writer PYLOT returned to our screens with the next chapter of their journey. 'Brawl' featuring McRocklin depicted once again PYLOT's symbolic synthwave characteristics. Released on their own label Vivid Night, 'Brawl' secretes something magical that is present in all of PYLOT's music. Check out the latest instalment here.
Our 23rd Precinct Music writers were taking over the Beatport Trance Charts for a period of June with our writers Paul Browne & Louise Stonebank's collaboration with Lost Witness on 'Now' taking the number 1 spot on the Hype Chart.
In addition our writers Les Hemstock & Chris Jennings took #4 spot on the same chart with their track 'Northern Lights' and Kenny Palmer on remix duties. Check it out here.
Mustafa Alici aka NEM3SI$ released another techno masterpiece with 'Don't Look Back'. Mustafa has enjoyed some great support with recent releases climbing dance music charts and receiving much support from Iluna Sessions on Groove City Radio. Head over to Beatport and grab a copy of his latest single now.
There is no stopping Richie Blacker - what is set to be a defining year for the writer/producer/DJ, he continued his world domination with friend and long term supporter Danny Howard remixing his Anjunabeats debut '2 Late 4 Love'. Bringing a bit of Balearic flare to the breakbeat sensation, we're huge fans of this remix - check it out now.
Our writers Charlie Sanderson, Stuart Greene and Natalie Gray released their highly anticpated single on Spinnin Deep - 'Always On My Mind' by Jake Tarry, Loose Lip, Charlie Sanderson & Natalie Gray made an exceptional splash on its release day gaining some great editorial support like Spotify's Hot New Dance. The great news continued at the end of the month with Guz's remix giving the track another little boost and landing in editorial playlists like Friday Cratediggers, Operator and New Music Friday.
Writing and production phenomenon Toby Woodhouse released more fantastic music under his artist project Mr. Sosa. Making his debut on legendary dance music purveyor Sasha's label Last Night On Earth. Leading with a single 'Paradox', Mr. Sosa reaped some welcomed Apple Music editorial support before dropping the 4-track EP 'Super Imposed' later in the month. Grab a copy here.
Our writer Stuart Braybrooke released a brand single 'What Do You Know' on DeeVu Records. A feel good summer house track with Bayley Badhasha that will be lighting up garden parties and hopefully soon - nightclubs. Stuart's proved himself an exceptional producer and his willingness to collaborate is one of his outstanding qualities. Check out his music under LYP on Spotify.
Ryan Sewell had another busy month with releases with his songwriting and vocals skills making the cut with Alok's Controversia Records, Future Sounds Of Egypt & Black Lizzard.
The former 'Who We Are' with Tom Enzy is a funk inspired tech house track with Ryan's soaring vocals taking stage. Check it out here.
Progressive electronica rising star Dylhen collaborated with Ryan on 'Hope', a classic FSOE release with its warehouse filling synths and basslines, grab a copy here.
Aside from all the releases, we've been hard at work setting up writing sessions, searching for new up & coming writers and looking for exciting collaborative projects. Interested in getting invovled? Hit us up at info@23rdprecinctmusic.com
