July 2021 - Monthly Round Up

There's not a month goes by where we are not blown away by the talent, stamina, enthusiasm and commitment of our 23rd Precinct Music writers.

Our writing duo Scott Forshaw & Joseph Beck were back at it pumping out some unbelievably top class pop house. This month's pick was 'Inside My Heart' - a tech house inspired banger which has been lapping up the digital streaming platform editorial support and amassed nearly 400K Spotify streams in its first few weeks. There's a string of exciting releases lined up for this pair including a new collaboration with 23rd Precinct's Alix Robson. Keep you eyes & ears peeled!

The blossoming writing partnership Stuart Braybrooke and Elliot Chapman delivered another vocal house dynamite with 'Wont Give You Up' a collaboration with Josh Hunter. We think it's a cracker and so did Jess Bays who played it on her Capital Dance show. Out now on Cravin' Records.

Elliot also released 'Fire & Thunder' a wicked pop inspired track with Yawdel. One that really showcases Elliot's soulful vocal ability. Check it out now on Circus Records.

23rd Precinct's Ryan Sewell made his debut on one of the UK's hottest labels Perfect Havoc. 'Bridges' is a disco-tinged house track which will undoubtedly cast you the dance-floor. Another great example of Rion's vocal capabilities and you can check it out here.

Northern Irelands' finest John Kirk aka Jay Kay was back on the release wagon with 'Amour'. Released on Kirk's on imprint de-Funkt Recordings, it's a fantastic return to form from the legendary DJ - bringing some 80s inspired electronica synths and grooves to his characteristic progressive identity.

Recent signee Toby Woodhouse released some brand new lofi house on Glasgow label Dealt With Records. 'Waverider' gaining support on the 23rd Precinct Music radio show as well as editorial support from Apple Music & Spotify.

Stuart Braybrooke also released some solo music under his deep house moniker LYP. 'Mirage' compiles 3 chilled lofi infused tracks - that wouldn't be out of place at at Café Mambo sunset. Released on Deepwit Recordings.

Our writer Conleth Kane's empowering ballad 'Proud' was given a fabulous makeover with a 7th Heaven remix released this month. You can check out the colourful and full of life official video on Youtube.

The mysterious brand new alias on Limbo Records, Galaxy 82 followed on from their success of 'Equinox' and delved deep into the archives to remix 'Transamerican' - the 1993 classic by Sublime. Written originally by writers Graham Drinnan and Matthew Brown, it was given the remix treatment by another one of 23rd Precinct's exceptional writing talents.

There was a further remix released on Limbo by Australia's Audio Noir. You can check that one out here.

Our writer / producer / artist / mentor extraordinaire David Forbes released another top Trance seller this month. 'Equator' was immediately picked up by A State Of Trance and blasted on the airwaves. The track currently sits at a comfortable #9 in Beatport's Trance Top 100. Let's get it to number 1!

Our writers Rhys Buckley, Luke Hayes and Fran Cosgrave released a couple of stunning new tracks this month under their Futuristic Polar Bears collective. 'Love On Fire' the brand new single with Cuebrick and LUX was released on Revealed Recordings. A superlative pop dance track with the stylistic big drops that FPB are renown for, it's a corker.

The triplet also released 'Amazonia EP' on their own CMMD Records. Expect high energy EDM and pulsating tribal influences.

Aside from all the releases, we are busy as ever behind the scenes co-ordinating writing sessions and pitching tracks for placements. July seen our first collaborative writing camp with Soho Sonic Studios which unfurled across two days in London and featured our very own Charlie Sanderson, Cameron Soper, Alix Robson, Astrid M, Bodine and Stuart McInnes.

Furthermore our very own Billy Kiltie and Kayleigh Robin were running off some of dance music's hottest new releases on their monthly Groove City Radio slot - 23rd Precinct Music Radio. Always a crowd pleaser, this month's show went off without a hitch and featured an array of dance classics as well as fresh out the oven releases.

Kayleigh is also running her monthly techno show under her Iluna alias which broadcasts on Groove City Radio. You can check back all the shows here on Soundcloud.
