March 2021 - Monthly Round Up
Another intensely busy month with 23rd Precinct Music - with a plethora of new demos, co-writing sessions, releases, videos and more!
Our writer Stephen Kirkwood made his debut on his dream label Anjunabeats this month, part of Anjuna Rising Volume 3. His techno-trance infused banger 'Gas Lighter' was supported several weeks in a row on Above & Beyond's Group Therapy. The Dumbarton based producer turned pizzeria maestro also took part in an official Anjunabeats live stream & recorded a worldwide mix which you can check out here. Listen to 'Gas Lighter' out now.
One of our newest signings Stuart McInnes released a track with long term collaborator Emma Whyte [EMIAH] and German DJ/producer Wave Wave. 'Missing U' is a summer time bop - pop dance fusion executed to the highest level. Released on Robin Schulz imprint Mentalo Records [Spinnin Records], the track reached #1 on SubmitHub in the days after its release. Check out 'Missing U' out now on all major streaming platforms.
David Forbes was back up the Beatport chart once more. After topping [and staying top for 4 weeks] the Trance charts in 2020 with his track 'Splice', he made it back up the charts peaking at #5 with his new track 'Accelerator' - a collaboration with fellow trance heavyweight Sneijder. 'Accelerator' is out now on Afterdark Records.
There was more Beatport success with our writer Sharon Freundlich aka Choopie reaching #2 on the Beatport Progressive House charts with his track 'Sayonara'. A collaborative track with Golan Zocher and a release which features remixes from the likes of Paul Deep & Analog Jungs. Check out 'Sayonara' out now via Mango Alley.
Our writer Elliot Chapman has demonstrated his exceptional level of songwriter and musicianship since joining our publishing roster last year. His most recent track - a collaboration with Texas' Devon Rea, is a soothing emotive ride. Slow & tender in it's instrumentation 'Belly' really captures a feeling of over-combing troubles. Check it out here.
Our writer Alix Robson has had a busy month. Preparing for the re-opening of her studio - Charthouse Studios in Portsmouth along with an avalanche of songwriting sessions and collaborations. This month saw the release of the official video for 'Want You' - her 2020 smash with Dutch producer Voost.
She also coordinated and led a songwriting camp [Charthouse Studios x 23rd Precinct x Twenty Twenty] which included an eclectic mix of writers all working to some exciting 23rd Precinct Music briefs.
There was more new music from the Limbo Records ranks this month. Our in-house label have been onward a staggering upward trajectory with a series of successful releases. Christian Boshell and Brian Cody collectively known as Phraktal released their second single 'Forbidden' from their upcoming album set for release in Spring 2021. Check out there recent releases here.
23rd Precinct's recent signing Toby Woodhouse made his debut on NeedWant this month. 'True' is another testament to Toby's superlative writing and production skills. Having already featured on BBC Radio 1 this year and with an impressive string of releases set for the coming months, we're excited to see what the rest of 2021 has in store for this talented producer.
JD McLellan also known as TeKlo was back at it this month with his synonymous banging electronica. 'NGL' is an aggressive, confrontational track which blends trap, hip-hop and dubstep. What more could you ask for.
It was another busy month for Ryan Sewell, hot off the back of some BBC Radio 1 support last month, Ryan was part of two new releases this month. Firstly his track with Brett Gould - 'Lay Your Hands' check out this vocal house with tech influence out now on Saved Records. He quickly followed that up with another great collaboration with disco extraordinaire Babert. 'Hey Baby' delivers on all that sultry energy correspondent with old disco classics.
There was also the small addition of some massive remixes to Ryan's catalogue this month. With Capital FM's Mistajam stepping up for remix duties on his recent co-write with Black Caviar 'Money Money' - and it's out on Defected imprint D4 Dance.
