March 2022 - Monthly Round Up
We may have lost an hour this month with daylight savings but we gained a tonne of great music added to our 23rd Precinct catalogue with our writers as busy as ever.
David Forbes is having a killer start to 2022 - the most successful trance artist in the world according to official Beatport charts. March seen him collaborate with Mallorca Lee on 'The Master' and another spine tingling hard techno release under his SEBROF alias in 'Channel Stripper'.
Korean pop star AILEE released the english lyrical version of 'TATTOO' - following on from the success of the Korean lyrical version released in 2020. Written by 23rd Precinct's Rachel Barror & James Barr - it's always a great feeling when our writers music travels well across land and see.
Richie Blacker continues to shine - his gig calendar filling up nicely including a trip to Albania for Anjunadeep Explorations this summer. This month he released his Club Culture series on Stress Records, a compilation of tracks from himself and other artists including Danny Howard, Ronnie Pacitti and fellow 23rd Precinct writer/producer Stephen Kirkwood. Blacker's own compositions; 'Es Vedra'; a collaboration with Tommy Farrow & 'Big Time Charlie' carry many euphoric piano breaks and his signature rave identity. Whilst 'Secret Lover' by Stephen Kirkwood is a driving tech house banger packed with mysterious energy.
'In The Dark' by Purple Disco Machine and Sophie & The Giants continues to do well across radio in Europe, hitting the #1 airplay position in Germany. Co-written by 23rd's Ryan Sewell, we're excited & proud to see this track continue to impress. It was also given the remix treatment this month from Ronn Basejam, a fine addition to the emphatic original and quality remix already delivered by Oliver Heldens.
Ryan also released 'Revel' a collaboration with KPD featuring his soulful vocals. A quintessential house track suitably released on Let There Be House.
He also featured on new music by Scruby - a brand new EP featuring 'Searching' which features Ryan's vocals and writing skills.
Alix Robson was back this month with some more music featuring her soaring vocals. Teaming up with Dutch producer on 'This Feeling', and following on from their epic collaboration 'Want You' released in early 2021. We're all hoping for some of the same success with 'This Feeling' which was released on Spinning Records.
A stunning acoustic mix of 'Moonlight' also reached the masses this month - a collaboration with Tom Ferry and co-written by 23rd's Stuart McInnes.
Our writer/producer/artist Alan La Porte continued his successful start to 2022 with another stellar release in March under his Covenants alias. 'Safe' delivers on positive his characteristic pop dance energy and is a fresh new collaboration with TobTok released on Robin Schulz's label Mentalo, part of the Spinnin Records empire.
March seen quality remixes released including Forbid's take on 'In Love With The Pain' by Josh Hunter & Elliot Chapman. Co-written by Elliot and featuring his unmistakably soothing vocals.
Tom Brownlow was on remix duties of 'My Life Is Changing' by Ruff Loaderz & Elliot Chapman. Co-written by 23rd's Elliot and Stuart Braybooke.
Mr. Sosa released a stunning new track entitled 'Flowers In Bloom' on Viceworks Records. Another solid instalment into a growing catalogue for writer/producer Toby Woodhouse. It's been a tremendous few months for Mr. Sosa who's reputation is growing and turning the heads of BBC Radio 1's Jack Saunders & Jaguar who've both supported his music.
One our incredibly talented writers and vocalists Sarah Jane Neild released 'Always Been You' a collaboration with producer Blvckr and released on the world renown Cuckoo Land based out of Ibiza.
Choopie released another progressive masterpiece this month - teaming up with long term collaborator Golan Zocher on 'Shades Of Love'.
We announced the signing Dale Easson & Harry Crossan to both our 23rd Precinct publishing roster and in-house record label First Run Reocrds this month. A frighteningly talented duo based between London & Dundee. Their hypnotic electronica is inspired by the likes of Metronomy and Hot Chip and they released their debut single 'SWEAT' on First Run Records. Many, many more to come so watch this space.
Jardin gained yet another BBC Introducing play this month courtesy of the lovely team in Sheeen Cutkelvin & Phoebe Inglis-Holmes. His latest single 'Rufus' showcases his slick tight production skills which he has been developing and it's great to see his hard work paying off.
Finally but certainly not least we have Mustafa Alici who released his techno power-house track 'Forever' on his own label Onhcet Republik - another techno stalwart added to the catalogue.
